Ooops I forgot to give a plug for EMBnet. You might like to try the threaded
newsreader at the following URL

http://www.caos.kun.nl/news.html (Netherlands)

Then a gopher source not to be missed in the EMBnet node in Switzerland

gopher://biox.embnet.unibas.ch:12999/1nntp

which carries quite alot of the Usenet hierarchy and has the special
feature that it allows you to do SEARCHES in a particular newsgroup.
So you can easily keep up with the "Dave and Una" saga by entering
the appropriate key word:-)
