B. Subtilis - Forcing Sporulation - Help!

Hello Netters - 

	I'm trying to force sporulation of a sample of Bacillus subtilis
spores.  I have read that this can be done with an application of
L-alanine; however, the literature has been skimpy with details of
concentrations, etc

	Does anyone know of a protocol, or a standard reference, that
describes this (or any other) method of forcing sporulation of Bacillus
spores?
