XVIIIth EUCARPIA SYMPOSIUM

SECTION ORNAMENTALS*

ORNAMENTAL PLANT IMPROVEMENT:
CLASSICAL AND MOLECULAR
APPROACHES

TEL AVIV, ISRAEL 5-9 MARCH, 1995

FIRST ANNOUNCEMENT

*Organized jointly with The Kennedy-Leigh Centre for
Horticultural Research of The Hebrew University of Jerusalem

Dear Colleague,

On behalf of the organizing committee I have the honor of inviting you
to participate in the XVIIIth EUCARPIA Symposium, Section Ornamentals,
organized jointly with The Kennedy-Leigh Centre for Horticultural
research of The Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

The aim of the meeting is to explore the advances made by scientists
involved in various aspects of creating new ornamental plants with
improved characteristics. Hence it should be of interest to breeders,
geneticists and biologists working in basic and applied aspects of
breeding ornamental crops. By bringing together scientists from
universities, research institutes and companies that use traditional
approaches in their effort to create new traits in ornamentals with those
using molecular means, the symposium should lead to exciting future
developments in this field.

The program will contain oral and poster presentations grouped into
sessions according to topic. The presentations will be selected by the
organizers from submitted abstracts. In addition, experts in the field
will present keynote lectures, and visits to research and production
facilities will be included in the program.

The organizing committee is confident that this will be a lively and
enjoyable event and is looking forward to meeting you in Tel Aviv.
