parallels btw. biology & economy?

Dear all,

Talking to a buisiness major yesterday evening, I was thinking about the 
parallels between economy and biology: Competition for limited recources, 
generalists vs. specialists, strategies for survival etc. Of course, this is 
nothing new; but is there any article or even book on the subject that you 
know of? Something like "Economy for Biologists" or "Biology for Managers"?
