Protein Recovery in Chromatography columns

What  are the typical recovery percentages of proteins from chromatographic columns?
i.e. If I were to carry out a Lowry assay on the protein peak collected from
the column, what percentage would it be of the protein I originally injected
into the column. A rough figure would suffice.

I am having this problem of low recovery percentages. I would greatly 
aprreciate any help in this regard.
