DNA extraction

I've been getting sketchy results on a PCR analysis of the GSTT1 gene.  
We're thinking it may have something to do with the DNA extraction 
method, Tween 20 vs. the ASAP method.  The ASAP DNA tends to have  a much 
higher instance of showing up on the gel, but for the life of me I can't 
figure out why this is so.
