lipid biosynthetic labeling

Does anyone have a protocol for the incorporation of glycolipids into cells 
in culture?  I have tried glycolipids at 1-20 micromolar (similar to the 
methods published by Tettamanti), followed by inorganic radiolabeled 
sulfate.  Although I get lots of sulfate labeling in cell lysates on TLC, I 
do not see increases in label in lysates of cells fed specific 
glycolipids.
