                 FRONTIERS IN CARBOHYDRATE RESEARCH 4
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A conference on state-of-the-art carbohydrate research,
            particularly practical polysaccharide research

May 10-12, 1994 Purdue University West Lafayette, Indiana

Sponsored by: The Whistler Center for Carbohydrate Research
and The Department of Food Science Purdue University

The Whistler Center for Carbohydrate Research announces its fourth
international conference, Frontiers in Carbohydrate Research 4. This
2.5 day conference is for industrial, governmental, and academic scientists,
managers of technology, and students. Like previous conferences, it will
focus on the molecular basis of practical functional properties of
polysaccharides and new and potential applications. Topics will be presented
by leaders and innovators in carbohydrate research.

-------
A block of rooms has been set aside at the University Inn. You may make
reservations by calling the hotel at (317) 463- 5511. The Purdue rate is
$55 per night for double occupancy and $10 per night for each additional
person. You will receive this special rate by mentioning Frontiers in
Carbohydrate Research 4 when making your reservation.

Schedule
--------
The conference will begin at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 10 and conclude at
4:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 12. All sessions will be held in Smith Hall on the

Coffee, tea, juices, and rolls will be available before the morning sessions.
Lunches are not included.

Time
----
Purdue University is on Eastern Standard Time throughout the calendar year.

Travel
------
Travel to Purdue is possible by car, Greyhound-Trailways bus lines, AMTRAK,
and airplane.

The campus and the University Inn is accessible from Interstate I-65,
U.S. Highway 52, and Indiana highways 25, 26, 38, 43, and 231. West Lafayette
