Replacement of reaction 1) with HCl (g) -------->    H* (g)   +   Cl* (g)
is wrong (basically wrong) and misleading, since it should be:
                               ^^^^^^^^^^

HCL  --------> H+ + Cl-

A completely different kind of stuff!
