Alternative to ProtoSlo

I remember teasing apart a piece of lens tissue to the point where the paper
just started to separate into fibers but was still not torn apart.  This would
then be lain on the slide, a drop of the suspension of protozoa was placed on
the teased part of the paper and a cover slip was dropped on top of all of
this.  All I had to do was focus the microscope and leisurely watch the little
buggers as they got trapped in the intertwined paper fibers.  No fuss, no muss,
no bother and very little expense.
