Try sci.bio.ecology, a.k.a. ECOLOG-L, which is available via e-mail
subscription from listserv at umdd.umd.edu.  At the ESA meeting last
year there were several field ecology lab manuals for sale, so try
also the _ESA Bulletin_ for news of these.
