Searching for PhD topic [Anaerobic Digestion?]

Can anyone suggest a suitable PhD topic in the area of solid waste 
degradation? I have been involved in the design and construction of 
landfill bioreactors and am after a few ideas on research topics that 
may deal with the anaerobic digestion of municipal solid waste. The PhD 
can either involve the area of landfill design or above ground in-vessel 
anaerobic digestion. Is there anyone in Australia that is knowledgable 
in the field?
