Energy sources

GTP is used as the energy source for the making of proteins. Yet, ATP is
used as the energy source for most cellular activities. Why is it that GTP
is used for initiating the activities for protein synthesis and not ATP?
What other activities involve the breakdown of GTP as an energy source?
