bacterial resistance to antibiotics

I am writing a paper of the implications of bacterial resistance to 
antibiotics.   I have only just switched to being a biology major and so would 
greatly appreciate it if anyone could send me some information on this 
subject.  Please bear in mind that I am only just starting out in biology and 
would understand anything too technical.  My paper only has to be 1500-2000 
words therefore I only have to present a very general view.
