Here in Michigan I'm noticing it with Oaks, mostly. It's interesting that I've not noticed this phenomenon in prior years. Many times when I find the cut branches the acorns are still attached, so it's not immediate feeding behavior. I wonder if space aliens could have anything to do with this . . .
