This may be of some help to you.  Dr. Karl Espelie at the University of Georgia, 
Department of Entomology has several projects dealing with paper wasps.  Several of 
the graduate students in his program have projects dealing with these wasps.  They 
work with Polestes sp. and some others.  Dr. Espelie, or some of his students may be
