SYMPOSIUM '95 ANNOUNCEMENT
Dear CSST Members:
Canada-China Society of Science and Technology (CSST) will hold the 2nd
Annual Symposium on Cooperation between Canada and China in Science,
Technology and Trade in Vancouver Trade and Convention Centre on Monday,
April 10th, 1995. All CSST members are encouraged to participate in this
event. Attached please find a copy of the Symposium Agenda and the
Registration form. Our ad has appeared in Vancouver Sun (Saturday, March 25,
1995, page C7).
This year, we have invited outstanding speakers from Government Officials of
both Canada and China, and from Executives of Canadian companies who have
successfully entered the emerging markets in China and Asia. Co-sponsored by
Science Council of BC, the symposium will not only give you the updated
information in China, it will also provide you unique opportunities to meet
executives of local hi-tech companies. In particular, it will be of great
benefit to you for searching JOBS, TECHNOLOGICAL COOPERATION and BUSINESS
PARTNERSHIP.
In addition, you are welcomed to submit a paper (and a recent photo) to the
symposium. If selected by the Organizing Committee, the paper and photo will
be printed in the symposium program. This is the privilege only for our
fellow CSST members.

CSST SYMPOSIUM 95
Canada-China Society of Science and Technology (CSST) is a non-political, non-
profit organization whose major objectives are to promote scientific exchange,
technological cooperation, and business trades between the two countries. It
has several hundred members in various fields of science and technology across
Canada. CSST has organized events such as symposia, business trips to China,
and technology transfer. Its endeavours have been warmly endorsed by
governments and private sectors.
The 1st symposium on cooperation between Canada and China was held in Robson
Square Conference Centre in Vancouver last year, attracting more than 250
people. The audience has gained experience from the outstanding speakers
covering a wide range of exciting topics concerning cooperation with the
fastest growing area.
CSST is pleased to announce the 2nd annual symposium. Co-sponsored by Science
Council of BC, the symposium will focus on the comparison of science and
technologies between the two countries, the current business environment in
China, and new venture opportunities. Government officials will highlight
the current policies and needs in Chinese markets. Hi-tech companies will
tell their first-hand experiences and successful stories of cooperation and
doing business in China and Asia in telecommunications, biotechnology,
forestry, transportation, computing, and much more!
