GCG, what is it?

Hello,

I'm a student of biology and looking for molecularbiology-software. I've
heared about GCG. Is this a software-package for sequencing, homology-search,
visualisation, gel-analysis,... ? Where can I get information about GCG, and
where to get the program (perhaps it is free software)? Perhaps you know
another software for molecularbiology-analyses?
