The current BIOSCI FAQ on net.bio.net contains this sentence:

> There are other forums on Usenet such as sci.bio for the asking
> and answering of biological questions from lay persons.

Unfortunately, many readers of this FAQ have confused the name of
a single newsgroup, sci.bio, with the name of an entire hierarchy,
sci.bio.*. By tradition, the newsgroup sci.bio is the main forum
where non-biologists can ask questions and speculate on matters
biological, no matter how wacky. The other 15 newsgroups in the
sci.bio.* hierarchy are of generally very professional quality,
and should not be confused with sci.bio.

Recently, sci.bio was renamed sci.bio.misc. Please update any FAQs
or other documents you maintain to reflect this change of name.

Non-biologists will find a comfortable environment for posting in
sci.bio.misc, and are generally welcome in the 15 other groups in
the sci.bio.* hierarchy.
