Alianthus or tree-of-heaven moth

I understand there is a moth introduced to Philadelphia in the 1830's or
40's, that fed on tree-of-heaven or alianthus leaves. I understand it now
has a scattered range in urban areas along the eastern coast of the
United States. From the picture I saw (in a new oth-and-butterfly
reference book, that has disappeared), the moth was rather large and colorful.
Does anyone have any additional information.
