Hello,
Does anyone have any references at all to cytogenetic location nomenclature
for the following species (or any others )? Which ones are identical to that
for Human etc.?
human (ISCN 1985, An International System for Human Cytogenetic Nomenclature,
(Harnden, D.G. and Klinger, H.P.,eds), Karger)
(ISCN 1991, Guidelines for Cancer Cytogenetics: Supplement to
An International System for Human Cytogenetic Nomenclature,
( Mitelman, F.,ed) Karger)
chimpanzee
gorilla
gibbon
mouse
rat
pig
dog
cat
sheep (* TI: Clarification of chromosome nomenclature in the sheep (Ovis aries).

cow
horse
deer
wallaby
platapus
chicken

We would like to set up a searching mechanism for a comparative mapping database
of some of these species. We have looked around various WWW net sites, FAQs and a quick literature search of Entrez and BIDS, but have not found the required information yet. Obviously the replies will be summarised and the summary posted
to the net.
Best Regards,
Peter Woollard
