Jen,
   Yes! Stranger yet, the teats are arranged in a "horse-shoe" shape with 
the one "odd numbered" teat in the center. I think all beginner biology 
students should learn about the 'possum just to prove how incredibly 
diverse mammals can be. Teats and litter size are just the tip of the 
iceburg:)
