introduction, and question

Hi! my name is Istvan Dalnoki-Veress and I am a second year biology 
student in Canada. I do not know what my specialty will be, but for now I 
am enjoying myself. Learning alot!

my first question, to anyone out there, is how can some fish, like 
stingray's produce so much electricity. And would not all water life be 
affected because water conducts electricity?
