I don't see why the pharmaceutical industry's profit margins on Canadian
sales have anything to do with its grants for Canadian research. They
are quite separate activities. Pharma companies are largely
multinationals, and typically use profits earned in one country to fund
research in another where research is cheaper or more effective.
