MOVING DEFENSE TECHNOLOGIES THROUGH THE FDA: AN OVERVIEW AND PRIMER FOR
THE
DEFENSE COMMUNITY

PURPOSE OF WORKSHOP: Expose the Defense Community--Military, Laboratory
and
Industry--to the realities of developing and transitioning technologies
for
medical use. Additionally, dispel the various myths, rumors and
misinformation that exist as to the FDA's mission and procedures as well
as
present a cohesive, intelligible and usable overview of the FDA and the
processes and procedures for getting technology and devices approved.
The
workshop will be held in conjunction with the ATACCC 96 and presented by
representatives from the FDA Center for Devices and Radiological
Health's
Division of Small Manufacturer's assistance. Topics will include: the
FDA--Who, What, Why, How: Establishment Registration: Review and
Approval
Procedures: and many other topics.
