Dear Michael,
	If Ca++ is not removed from muscle, the muscle will remain con-
tracted.  Lactic acid build-up has this ultimate effect.  The physiology
is, indeed well-known.

	IMRHO, any physiology text would be a start.  This is far from my
field, so if any expert should respond, listen to her/him.
