Information request about M13 gene III repeat primers

Hello,

I have the following question about the M13 gene III repeat primers:

Does anybody know a bit more about this gene III and has it been found in 
plants ? I used this primers for targetting tomato and I found the total 
copy of the region in some plants. Whats that ? I would be interested in 
all informations from people who have used this primers in plant 
fingerprinting.
