Recently, the bleat of a little lamb was heard around the world.
But this, of course was no ordinary sheep. Dolly, as she's called, is a
clone...and for days now we've been hearing about the ethical
dilemmas her birth has unleashed. But there's another side to the story
of Dolly. The biotechnology business is worth billions worldwide, and
cloning is vital to its economic success. What's happening in
corporate laboratories is way out in front of ethical debate -- and
government policy. Ian Brown interviews Andrew Kimbrell, executive
director of The International Centre for Technology Assessment in
Washington. He's also the author of The Human Body Shop, published by
Gateway which looks at the global biotech business.
