I just purchased a remaindered copy of "Genes V" by a Benjamin Lewin.

Even though the book is published by Oxford University Press, it
seems lacking in some aspects of scientific scholarship. No
organizational affiliation is given for Lewin. Furthermore, Lewin's
viewpoints and opinions on several different topics seem to be quite
idiosyncratic, even equating genes with molecular biology, and
seemingly relegating most of the subject of genetics to "anecdote".

Does anyone know any more about this Lewin chap? I couldn't locate
any reference to him on the Web, other than the use of his textbook at
several universities.
