Spam on BIONET newsgroups

What is being done to eliminate or reduce the spam on the BIONET
newsgroups?  The signal to noise ratio is dropping daily.  And with some of
the spam that has appeared in the BIONET groups, it would be difficult to
convince a sponsor to put their logo in association with such material.

These newsgroups are very useful.  However, due to some morons abusing the
Internet, their usefulness is rapidly diminishing.
