 The Department of Applied Science at the University of Arkansas at
Little Rock invites applications for Ph.D. research assistantships
starting this summer in the Biomedical field.  Ongoing areas of research

include: (1) cochlear implants, (2) non-invasive measurement techniques
of lung function in infants, (3) auditory evoked potentials measurements

of the fetus--SQUID instrumentation, (4) orthopaedic prosthesis, etc.

  The Department is interdisciplinary, offering graduate programs
leading
to the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in applied (instrumental) science and is
supported by a faculty of 16.  The biomedical engineering program is a
joint program with the University of Arkansas medical school (UAMS).
