Scientific positions in Life Science Informatics at the University of Bonn
The Chair of Life Science Informatics, Bonn-Aachen International
Center for Information Technology (B-IT), Rheinische Friedrich-
Wilhelms-Universität Bonn, has several immediate openings for
predoctoral candidates. These positions are initially granted for a
period of three years and can be extended.
Responsibilities include research and teaching in the area of life
science informatics, in particular, the development of new methods for
mining of chemical databases and the analysis of molecular similarity
and biological or chemical structure-activity relationships. Teaching
responsibilities include the support of the international masters
program in life science informatics.
Requirements:
diploma or masters degree in computer science, chemistry,
biochemistry, biology, or pharmaceutical sciences
fluency in English
versatility in computing (Windows, Linux) and experience with
programming (e.g., Perl, C, or C++)
interest in the development and application of computational
methods for life science research
We offer:
- the opportunity to conduct independent research and complete
a Ph.D. thesis
