[Employment] Postdoctoral Position in Coarse-Grained Modeling

A postdoctoral position is available in the Computational Biochemistry
& Biophysics Group in the Department of Biochemistry at Kansas State
University to conduct research on coarse-grained modeling of proteins
and their interaction with biological membranes.
The ideal candidate must have
(1) Ph.D. in chemistry, physics, or related fields with a strong
background in biophysics
(2) Extensive experience with CHARMM and/or Gromacs
(3) Substantial experience in protein and/or biological membrane
simulation
Successful applicants will also have strong computational skills,
including scientific programming experience and experience with UNIX
environments. An ideal candidate would be highly competent in a number
of programming and scripting languages such as C++, FORTRAN, perl, and
python. Candidate must also display exceptional motivation and the
ability and desire to work both independently and as part of a team.
Good oral and written communication skills are essential.
The position will be available beginning August 2008. The initial
appointment is one year and might be renewed depending on mutual
