Call for Papers for the Special Track on Artificial Life and
Bio-inspired Robotics (ALBR)
in the 5th International ICST Conference on Bio-Inspired Models of Network,
Information, and Computing Systems (BIONETICS2010)

ALBR solicits papers addressing all aspects of artificial life,
biologically inspired information processing paradigms that lead to
theory and practice in robotics. The track will provide an arena of
exchanging ideas and presenting the state-of-the-art of multiple
disciplines of life science, theoretical computer science, and ICT
(information and communications technology). The track encourages
submissions of technical papers, survey papers, and reports on latest
progress. The specific topic areas of interest include, but are not
limited to, the following:

· The fundamental theory of artificial life including
methodology and mathematical models

· Evolutionary software, simulation and programming

· Data structure, algorithm design and computational complexity analysis

· Nonlinear dynamics including chaos, fluctuation, and synchronization

· Cellular automata, artificial chemistry, and multi-agent systems

· Swarm intelligence, ant colony optimization, and applications

· Wetware evolution, molecular computing

· Robotics theory and applications

· Planning, navigation, and control for robots

· Signaling processing and machine intelligence

· Mechatronics and applications

· Computational neuroscience and brain science

· Speech understanding and computational linguistics

· Integration of communication networks and robots

· Perspective on nanotechnology and robotics

Track Chair

Jian-Qin Liu, National Institute of Information and Communications
Technology, Japan
