4th IEEE International Conference on Computational
Advances in Bio and Medical Sciences

   4th IEEE Internati= onal Conference on Computational
   Advances in Bio and Medical Sciences= (ICCABS)
   June 2-4, Miami Beach Resort and Spa, Miami Beach, FL, USA

   Advances in high-throughput technologies such as= DNA sequencing and
   mass spectrometry are profoundly transforming life scie= nces,
   resulting in the collection of unprecedented amounts of biological an d medical data. Using this data to advance our knowledge about
   fundamental= biological processes and improve human health requires
   novel computational= models and advanced analysis algorithms. IEEE
   ICCABS aims to bring togeth= er leading academic and industry
   researchers to discuss the latest advances= in computational methods
   for bio and medical sciences.

   Topics of interest include but are not limit= ed to:
     * Biological modeling and simulat= ion (Molecular and cellular
       modeling, stochastic and rule-based mo= deling, modeling languages
       and systems);
     * Biomedical image processing (Image segmentation and
       classification, visualization, functional and= molecular imaging);
     * Biomedical data and literature = mining (Data integration,
       knowledge discovery from electronic medi= cal records and
       scientific literature);
     * Computational genetic epidemiol= ogy (Linkage and association
       analysis, gene-gene and gene-environm= ent interaction modeling,
       genetic risk analysis);
     * Computational metabolomics (Metabolomics databases, metabolite
       identification, spectral analysis,= metabolic network modeling);
     * Computational proteomics (Peptide identification and
       quantification, post-translational modificat= ions,
       protein-protein interactions );
     * Databases and ontologies (Biomedical data warehouses, database
       integration, biomedical ontologies= and semantic web services);
     * Gene regulation (Regul= atory motifs and modules,
       post-transcriptional regulation, regulatory netwo= rks);
     * Genome analysis (Genom= e assembly, genome annotation, comparative
       genomics, metagenomics);
     * Health Informatics (Me= dical data management and privacy, medical
       recommender systems, therapy opt= imization);
     * High-performance bio-computing<= /strong> (Cloud and grid
       computing, advanced multi-core, GPU, and FPGA biom= edical
     * Immunoinformatics (Epi= tope prediction, vaccine design, immune
       system simulators);
     * Molecular evolution (M= odels of evolution, reconstruction of
       phylogenetic trees and networks, comp= arative genomics);
     * Population genomics (H= aplotype and recombination analysis,
       structural genomic variation, signatur= es of natural selection);
     * Sequence analysis (Mul= tiple sequence alignment, motif discovery,
       sequence search and clustering); * Structural bioinformatics (RNA and protein structure prediction
       and classification, molecular doc= king, RNA and protein design);
     * Systems biology (Syste= ms approaches to molecular biology,
       multi-scale modeling, biological networ= ks, synthetic biology);
     * Transcriptomics (Micro= array and sequencing-based transcriptome
       profiling, novel transcript discov= ery, alternative splicing,
       non-coding RNA analysis).

   Submission Instructions:

   Authors are invited to electronically submit= poster and Highlights
   submissions. Each poster submission should not excee= d 1 page in
   length. In addition to being displayed, each accepted poster wi= ll
   also be allocated a short time for an oral presentation. Each poster
   tit= le should start with the word “Poster:” Accepted abstracts
   will be publ= ished in the IEEE Xplore Digital Library.

   The Highlights track is meant for authors to talk about results from previously published papers. Each accepted speaker will be given the
   same = amount of time as that for a regular paper. Nothing will be
   published in th= e proceedings corresponding to the Highlights track.
   Authors are asked to s= ubmit a brief summary and the importance along
   with publication details of = the paper they want to talk about. The
   title of the summary should start wi= th the word “Highlights:”

   Authors are invited to make their submissions electronically in PDF format by following the instructions at
   [1]https://www.easychair.org/conferences/?co= nf=iccabs2014.
   Submissions should be prepared using IEEE Computer So= ciety’s
   Word/LaTeX templates available at
   [2]http://www2.computer.org/portal/web/csc= ps/formatting
