A new newsgroup and parallel mailing list for discussions about
tropical biology has been established. The newsgroup name is
TROPICAL-BIOLOGY and on USENET the group is called
bionet.biology.tropical.

If you have USENET news software, then you can particpate directly in
bionet.biology.tropical.

If you need to receive postings by e-mail, please request a
subscription from one of the following addresses:

In the Americas or Pacific Rim countries, send your human-readable
request for a subscription to TROPICAL-BIOLOGY to
biosci at genbank.bio.net.
-----------------------

In the U.K. or at sites connected to JANET, send your human-readable
request for a subscription to TROPICAL-BIOLOGY to
biosci at uk.ac.daresbury.
-----------------------

In the rest of Europe, Africa, or Central Asia, send the line

SUBSCRIBE TROP+BIO your_personal_name

to the BITNET/EARN address or LISTSERV at IRLEARN or LISTSERV at IRLEARN.UCD.IE.
                               ---------------- -----------------------

The SUBSCRIBE syntax is only needed at IRLEARN. A plain English
request will suffice at GenBank and Daresbury.

The following addresses are used for posting messages to this open
(not moderated) newsgroup. PLEASE do not use the following addresses
for requesting e-mail subscriptions because you will bother all of the
other current subscribers to the newsgroup.

trop-bio at genbank.bio.net
trop-bio at uk.ac.daresbury
trop-bio at irlearn.ucd.ie

Please use the posting address at the site from which you receive you
e-mail subscriptions.

				Sincerely,
