The proposal to convert the pep-libs at net.bio.net prototype newsgroup
into a full BIOSCI newsgroup garnered 77 YES votes and 1 NO vote. It
fell short by 3 votes of passing. Traffic on this group has also been
very low, so the group will be terminated. These results do not bode
well for it attracting broad use in the future when compared to the
vote totals garnered by more successful newsgroups.
As stated in our policy:
"If a proposal is not passed by the readers, there will be a three
month period before it can be brought up for another vote."
If the discussion leader expects that more support can be generated in
three months, this proposal can be raised again, but it is moribund
I suggest that those who want to discuss issues covered previously in
the pep-libs prototype group do so in the context of the current
biosci-help at net.bio.net
