BIOSCI documentation, newsgroup archives and indexes are available
through the BIOSCI home page on the World Wide Web (WWW). The URL is

			 http://www.bio.net/

This month direct WWW access has also been added to a lot of standard
USENET documentation from news.announce.newusers for, e.g., sources of
USENET news software and other important network information. The
"bionet Checkgroups Message" is also an option under the BIOSCI
documentation section. News administrators should regularly use this
checkgroups script to ensure that the latest bionet USENET newsgroups
are available on their news system. If you can't find new bionet
newsgroups in your newsreader, please call this feature to the
attention of your news administrator.

The following new newsgroups were created. Please check the BIOSCI
info sheet in a subsequent posting for details:

AFCR (moderated) American Federation for Clinical Research
                                announcements

DIAGNOSTICS Discussions of problems and techniques in
                                all fields of diagnostics

The following new protype newsgroups were created. Please check the
section on prototype newsgroups near the end of the BIOSCI info sheet
for details:

phbiotec at net.bio.net Discussions about research in pharmaceutical
                          biotechnology.
