******************* HUM-MOLGEN LIST POLICIES *****************

****HUM-MOLGEN IS.........
HUM-MOLGEN is a general interest communication-list in Human
(Molecular) Genetics. The purpose of the list is to create a
world-wide communication-forum in Genetics.

****SUBSCRIBERS ARE.......
Subscribers to the list are molecular biologists, geneticists,
clinicians, biology and medical students and other individuals
interested in the field of Human Genetics. Presently, there
are over 200 HUM-MOLGEN subscribers world-wide.

****THE EDITORIAL POLICY IS......
HUM-MOLGEN is a 'moderated' list with low-key editing. The
current editorial policy is to transfer all messages to the
list, unless they are outside the scope of HUM-MOLGEN or
clearly not of interest to all subscribers. The current edi-
tors of HUM-MOLGEN are Frank Zollmann and Arthur Bergen (ow-
ner).

****COMMUNICATION ON HUM-MOLGEN INCLUDES........
Communication on HUM-MOLGEN includes discussion on major and
general interest topics in Genetics, calls for collaboration,
job opportunities, congress and other announcements, digital
pre-information about texts or Journals to appear in hard-
copy, calls for and exchange of research interest among sub-
scribers, once-a month mailings about advances in topics of
general human molecular genetics interest.

****SUBSCRIBERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO..........
Subscribers are encouraged to send messages of interest to
HUM-MOLGEN (HUM-MOLGEN at NIC.SURFNET.NL). It is HUM-MOLGEN policy to
use the list efficiently and to combine list-communication
with traditonal person-to-person E-mail. Personal messages or
personal replies should not be send to the list, but to an
individual. Otherwise, it might annoy other colleague HUM-MOLGEN
subscribers. Obviously, replies of general interest should be send to
the entire list.

Subscribers are also encouraged to support HUM-MOLGEN actively
within their own organisations and personal, or professional colleague
net-works. The larger HUM-MOLGEN becomes, the more usefull it will
be to all subscribers. A specific call for support or for new editors
will be placed on HUM-MOLGEN occaisionally.

COMMERCIAL MESSAGES ON HUM-MOLGEN........
A limited number of commercial messages is allowed on HUM-MOLGEN, but
only when the content of these messages is of clear interest to all
HUM-MOLGEN subscribers.
