M.Sc. IN OCCUPATIONAL HYGIENE
This is an intensive one year full-time taught course which includes a
four month research project and commences in October, 1995. The aim
of the course is to produce a modern hygienist who is thoroughly grounded
in the theory of occupational hygiene and highly competent in its practice.
Studies of occupational hazards caused by chemical, biological and physical
agents, hazard evaluation and environmental control are complemented by
practical field exercises in a representative range of industries and
Entrance Requirements: Graduate in pure or applied science, medicine,
or specially approved qualifications.
The University occupies a single site inthe centre of the city, and is
integrated closely in the social,cultural and economic life of the region.

reputation. Newcastle is the regional capital of the North East and the

It is a first-class shopping and entertainment centre, with lively
nightclubs and restaurants of most national cuisines. There are
fast links by road and by rail - London is under three hours away by
train, - and direct flights from Newcastle International Airport to London,
and the major European capitals.
