Nobel Website on Internet starting October 5 ,1995
The Nobel Foundation will start a site on the World Wide Web
(http://www.nobel.se) on October 5, 1995. This website will be used to
announce the 1995 Nobel Prizes in Physics, Chemistry, Physiology or
Medicine, Literature and Peace and the Bank of Sweden Prize in
Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel. The site has a searchable
data base listing previous Nobel Laureates and presents information
about Alfred Nobel, his will as well as the statutes, rules and
financial management of the Nobel Foundation. The Nobel Website will
be linked to computers at the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences,
http://www.kva.se, the Medical Nobel Assembly at the Karolinska
Institute http://www.nobel.ki.se/mednobel.html, the Swedish Academy
http://svenska.gu.se/academy.html and the Norwegian Nobel Committee,
http://nobel.no/indexen.html to provide in-depth information about
different aspects of the prizes. The website that is now coming
on-line is a preliminary prototype version which will be upgraded in
stages during the coming year.
