NEW INITIATIVE
COMPLEX DISORDERS COLLECTION
The National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS) Human Genetic
Mutant Cell Repository is requesting submission of blood or lymphoblastoid cell
cultures from probands with well-documented phenotypes representing a variety
of familial complex genetic disorders. In addition to familial cancers, such as
breast, prostate, colon, pancreatic, and melanoma, other complex disorders
currently being sought include multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, Parkinsonism,
hypertension, atherosclerosis, long QT syndrome, osteoporosis, asthma,
rheumatoid arthritis, nonsyndromic hearing loss, neural tube defects,
congenital heart disease, cleft lip and palate, fetal alcohol syndrome, morbid
obesity, psoriasis, glaucoma, macular degeneration, cataracts, migraine, lupus
erythematosus, Crohn disease and other inflammatory bowel disease, autism,
dyslexia, attention deficit disorder, and Tourette syndrome. To arrange for
