NEW MAPPING RESOURCE AVAILABLE
Febuary 20,1995
According to the tradition established at CEPH by Jean Dausset and Daniel Cohen, the physical mapping
team at CEPH announces the public and free availability of
a new CEPH chromosome 21 mapping resource.
This resource was created with financial support of:
- Ministere de la Recherche et de l'Enseignement Superieur
- GREG (Groupement d'Etudes et de Recherche sur les Genomes)
- AFM (Association Francaise contre les Myopathies)
This resource consists of:
1. Human total genome BAC library of 29568 clones with average insert size
of 130 kb prepared by cloning of human lymphoblastoid cell line partially
digested with BamHI enzyme into BamHI site of pBeloBAC II plasmid vector.
This library roughly corresponds to 1 human haploid genome equivalent.
2. Human total genome BAC library of 29568 clones with average insert size
of 130 kb prepared by cloning of human lymphoblastoid cell line partially
digested with HindIII enzyme into HindIII site of pBeloBAC II plasmid vector. This library
roughly corresponds to 1 human haploid genome equivalent.
3. The positive results of the screening of these libraries with 393 STSs.
4. FISH localization data for 105 BACs, together with sizes of these BACs.
5. Sequence data for 2952 sequences obtained from Alu-bubble PCR products of 93
chromosome 21 specific YAC clones.
6. Data on 38 chromosome 21 specific STSs generated from these sequences.
Availability of the resource:
This public release does not constitute a scientific publication of CEPH
work, but rather provides the scientific community with the most up-to-date
view in our lab notebooks.
Any publication made with the use of these data should acknowledge properly
the Physical Mapping Team at CEPH and will be possible only after prior
consultation with D.Cohen and I.Chumakov under direction of whom these data
have been generated.
Requests for BAC clones should be adressed to: chumakov at cephb.fr
