Biotech Education Workshop

A hands-on Short Course in Biotechnology entitled "Applications of
Biotechnology for Society" will be held January 26 and 27, 1996 at
Cerritos College, Norwalk, California. 

EDVOTEK is pleased to announce a short course which focuses on selected
methods used in biotechnology applications which are of major significance
to society.  The two-day short course is open to college faculty and
Advanced Biology and AP Biology pre-college instructors.  Participants
will perform several "hands-on" experimental activities which have been
successfully implemented in classroom laboratories around the world. 
Emphasis will be placed on small group instruction, which will be
augmented with theoretical lecture and discussion sessions.  The $195
registration fee covers the cost of reagents and materials to be used in
the workshop, lunch on Day 1, as well as resource materials to help
facilitate incorporation of biotechnology activities in science curricula.

  DNA Sizing and Mapping
  Setting up a Southern Blot
