        Technology
        November 24 to  December 15, 1996
        Faculty of Medicine, The University of Hong Kong

            This is a 3-week intensive lecture and
      practical course co-sponsored by the Industry
      Department and the Dr. & Mrs. Clyde Wu Fund. It is

      for basic, medical and biotechnology research.
      Topics: The course will cover molecular aspects of
      development, manipulating the mammalian genome and
      applications of transgenic technology and include
      pre- and postimplantation mouse development;
      embryonic stem cells, chimeras, gene transfer
      techniques, genetics, phenotype analysis, transgenic
      models of human diseases, transgenic farm animals,
      and xenotransplantation.  Course co-ordinators:
      Kathryn Cheah (Hong Kong), Robin Lovell-Badge
      (London), Mai Har Sham (Hong Kong) and Patrick Tam
