The symposium will be held at the Karl-Franzens-University of Graz, the
provincial capital of Styria (Austria). The University, founded as a
Jesuit college in 1585 and rebuilt in Italian Renaissance style in 1890,
is located within walking distance of the old town with the famous
"Schlossberg", many park areas, restaurants, pubs and beer gardens.
The scientific program will cover the chemistry, biochemistry and
pharmacology of NO relevant to its action at the cellular and molecular
level. Invited lectures will focus on selected topics, including the
interaction with oxygen radicals, gene expression, apoptosis, and the
regulation of the NO/cyclicGMP signal transduction pathway in the
cardiovascular and nervous system. The invited lectures will be
complemented by free oral communications and posters.
