In 1998 the annual meeting of the European Iron Club will be held in the
Netherlands. In an informal and friendly atmosphere biochemical,
physiological and clinical aspects of iron in health and disease will be
discussed. The meeting will include sessions on haemochromatosis, iron
deficiency, iron and inflammation, iron and oxygen radical related
pathology, and iron chelators. There will be oral and poster presentations,
poster discussion sessions, state-of-the-art lectures and social activities.
By tradition the European Iron Club provides an ideal forum for interaction
between fundamental researchers and clinical scientists. Active
investigators from all over the world are invited to participate and to send
in abstracts. In particular the participation of junior scientists is
stimulated, and some bursaries for young investigators are available.
