We would like to invite you to the Second International Conference on Laser 
Microdissection. Since the first meeting in 1998 in Les Diablerets 
substantial progress has been made in the field of microdissection assisted 
by laser beam technology. The year 2000 congress will join both the 
technical aspects and the thematic achievements.
We are happy to offer a program with internationally recognised specialists 
in the field. Topics covered will be laser microdissection in pathology, 
especially tumour pathology, prenatal medicine and genetics.
Two workshops will be held, giving the opportunity to each participant to 
become acquainted with the two main systems for laser microdissection. 
Practical sessions giving opportunities to manipulate the laser microscopes 
will be organised.
The conference venue is located in the Geneva area close to the lake of 
Geneva. September in Western Switzerland usually offers a mild climate and 
you will enjoy the vineyards in their autumn colours. Geneva is a starting 
point for excursions to the Mont-Blanc, the Swiss Alps and numerous nearby 
located vestiges of ancient and recent European history.
