TRANSNATIONAL ACCESS TO MAJOR RESEARCH INFRASTRUCTURE
HPRI SHORT-TERM VISITOR PROGRAMME
The Human Potential Programme funded by the European Commission supports
access for researchers to the synchrotron radiation facilities at the
EMBL-Hamburg Outstation (HPRI-CT-1999-00017).
The Outstation offers extensive possibilities for research in
Molecular Structural Biology and a stimulating, international
environment. Together with a strong in-house research programme,
the laboratory has a recognized tradition in advanced training in
structural techniques and the establishment of collaborations across
European States. Excellent facilities are available for macromolecular
crystallography, small angle scattering and X-ray spectroscopy.
For these techniques, synchrotron radiation is offered at six dedicated
beamlines as well as computing and graphics facilities. In addition,
a molecular biology and protein chemistry laboratory is available,
specially suited for the requirements of structural biology.
HPRI funds offer ample opportunities for interdisciplinary research,
studies, scientific collaborations and training possibilities.
Access will be granted to researchers whose home laboratory is
located in an EU country or Associated State according to the
scientific significance of the research proposal. Visits will normally
for a maximum of three months. Participation of young researchers
(PhD students and post-docs) will be specially promoted.
Selected visitors will be supported from this grant for travel fom their
institute, local accommodation and by a daily subsistence.
Applications and informal enquiries can be made at any time
