Dear Collegue,
We would like to inform you that we have just opened the registration for the
EUROPEAN CONFERENCE
ON PROKARYOTIC
GENOMES
5 - 8 October, 2003
University of Göttingen/Germany
(http://www.dechema.de/prokagen)
Genome research on prokaryotic organisms is currently performed in Germany
within the framework of three competence networks, their centers located in
Göttingen, Bielefeld and Würzburg. Research in these networks is devoted to
whole genome sequencing of prokaryotes and also to the development of
cutting-edge technologies to make use of the sequences for industrial production
processes, in agriculture and the control of infectious diseases. The competence
networks are now organizing a European Conference on Prokaryotic Genomes, which
will be an excellent occasion to review the current stage of prokaryotic genome
research. You are cordially invited to attend the conference, to listen to
prominent scientists in this exciting field and to present your work in poster
sessions. The conference will be held in the central lecture hall building of
the University of Göttingen.
